I'm going to be honest. This week has been a rough one. Nothing terrible happened, but it was just a really bland week for me. Things just did not go my way or how I would hope that they would. And so, it was just difficult for me to hear God's voice or see what He was doing in my life. There was a just a spiritual block that was in my way for most of the week. Which in it self opened my eyes to a couple things. So I guess even when I feel distracted, God is still teaching and opening my eyes to things I must be aware of or that I need to be reminded of.

The first thing that this teaches us is that this is a common thing that every believer goes through. There are times that we just feel distant from God. It doesn't matter if you been a Christian for 30 days or 30 years. I have known people who have been pastors for 50 plus years, and they go through this as well. So there will be a time that we have a spiritual block in our way. But as I said God is still teaching us, even in these times. God is still talking to us even if we can here His voice. So while this happens we should not be discouraged. Now I do think we need to be aware of these times, and find encouragement from others. And try seek out why we have this spiritual block, that's blocking us from God. And then we must learn from it. For example, my main issue was I was just throwing a tantrum for things not going how they should.

The second thing that I learned from this is that God is always there. He will never leave us. Now this is something that we should all know and understand. But it is also one of those life lessons that we need to be reminded of every so often. "38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39 (ESV). Paul tells us in this verse that we can never be sperated from God. So in the terms of what we are talking about. Even when we feel like God is not there or that there is a spiritual block and my way. God is still there. God is still with us. God still has a plan for us. God is still talking to us. This is amazing news that we should take joy in. Once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. God will never leave us. So then the question why is it that sometimes it feels like God is so far away and that we can't hear His voice?

Usually if there is a spiritual block it is on our part. So we should then first pray for God to shine a light what in our life is blocking us from God. Is it a hidden sin. Is it the fact that something didn't go your way, like in my case. Or is it that you have something in your life that is more important to you than God. Like money, a girlfriend, a boyfriend, or so on. As I said, this is when we need God to shine a light on our lives. It's also when need to take inventory of our own life and see if anything is sticking out that might be causing the distraction. "23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!

Try me and know my thoughts![a]

24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting!" Psalms 139:23-24 (ESV). If we pray this, God will show us what is in our hearts. And will help us surrender those things and get rid of them. So that we can hear His voice and feel His presence. And so what I your life do you need to work on so that you can get rid of that spiritual block?

For myself, the spiritual block was that things in my life were not working like they should. I will confess, they weren't even big things. One was that my computer has not been working like it should, so I could not upload a teaching video this week. Which, saying out loud just sounds like a dumb reason to not be close to God. And it is, as well as it's all my fault. So I had to ask for forgiveness and surrender it to God. Because He is in control. I can report that once I did that, I felt a lot better. As well as, was able to feel God. My computer still doesn't work. But, I am at peace knowing that God is in control.

In closing, we must always remember that God is always in control. And God is always trying to teach us something, even when we have a spiritual block. Which in it self could be what we need to learn.
